These are the rules for using RevisionDeck. We've written them the way we'd want them written for us — readable, and honest about what we can and can't promise. By making an account you're agreeing to them.
A study tool. You upload your course material, and it turns that into flashcards, quizzes, notes and a tutor you can ask questions, plus a planner to keep it all on schedule.
It isn't a teacher, and it isn't always right. The AI can be confidently wrong — it can misread a diagram, invent a date, or mark a correct answer as wrong. Always check anything that matters against your actual course materials and your actual teacher. It isn't a substitute for your syllabus, and we can't promise it will improve your grades. Your results are the product of your work, and your exam outcomes aren't something we can be held responsible for.
It also isn't a source of medical, legal, financial or mental health advice, whatever you happen to be revising.
You need to be at least 13. Keep your password to yourself — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. One account per person, and please use a real email address, because it's how you'd recover access.
Your material stays yours. Uploading it doesn't transfer ownership. You give us permission to store it and to process it — including sending the relevant text to Anthropic's Claude API — purely so the features you asked for can run. Nothing more.
In return, only upload material you're actually allowed to use for personal study: your own notes, your own coursework, handouts and textbooks you have legitimate access to. Don't upload pirated textbooks, other people's work passed off as yours, or anyone's personal or confidential information.
RevisionDeck is for learning, not for getting round the learning. Don't submit AI-generated text as your own work in assessed coursework, and don't use it during an exam or a test unless you've been told you can. Academic misconduct rules are set by your school, college or university, and they apply to you regardless of what any app lets you do — the consequences land on you, not on us.
The AI features cost real money to run, so they have per-account limits. Normal studying won't come near them. What we do ask is that you don't script the app, resell access, or hammer it to generate bulk content — that spoils it for everyone and we'll suspend accounts that do.
RevisionDeck is new. Features will change, some will be removed, and there will be bugs and occasional downtime. We'll try to give warning before anything disruptive, but we can't promise the service will always be available — so if a deadline depends on it, keep your own copy of the material. Settings will export everything as a single file whenever you want it.
The service is provided as it is, without warranties we can't honestly make. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses — missed deadlines, lost marks, lost data — and any liability we do have is limited to what you've paid us in the last twelve months. None of this limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be signed away.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and it goes for good. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless there's a legal reason we can't.
We'll update these terms as the product grows. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you in the app rather than relying on you re-reading this page. Carrying on using RevisionDeck after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Anything unclear, or something you disagree with — email hello@revisiondeck.com. We'd rather hear it.
